The healthiest sushi restaurant in North America.
Thanks to Vancouver’s coastal location there are no shortage of sushi restaurants, but there is one that has successfully differentiated itself from the crowd.
Priding itself on being North America’s first all natural sushi place, Shizen Ya is one of my favorite places for a quick bite or takeaway.
The menu has an abundance of veggie, vegan and gluten free options.
They only use Oceanwise seafood.
The quinoa, brown rice and greens are organic.
No additives or MSG!
Below: Vegetarian Spinach Curry – homemade spinach curry paste, chickpea, onion, red pepper, served with brown rice. I added chicken to mine and it was delicious!
Below: Sakura Blossom Roll – (inside) fresh real crab, spicy albacore tune, cucumber, organic avo, organic brown rice, (outside) wild sokeye salmon. Served with a creamy maple sauce.
I also tried the chicken teriyaki which I wasn’t crazy about, and the chicken gyoza which I loved.
A quick bite with friends or takeout.
You can’t book so be prepared to wait at peak times.
