Kondi is one of the best workouts in Vancouver. Fact.
Let me just start by saying that I am a HUGE fan of Kondi. I was recently introduced by a friend and within 8 classes I had lost half an inch from my thighs, hips and waist.
And if that wasn’t enough to make you want to try it out, all the instructors are a strong 10 out of 10, which is a great motivation to keep going!
So really I could just end this review here but let me tell you what Kondi actually is.
The Kondi mantra is “Lengthen, Strengthen, Tighten, & Tone”and that is achieved by attending a combination of their 8 different classes.
The classes are designed by the genius founder Lacey Kondi (pictured right), and are made up of a combination of Pilates, Calisthenics, HIIT and TRX.
(See full class descriptions at their website here)
The HIIT or any of the HIIT combo classes are among the most challenging, with 3 sets of uphill and flat road sprints on the treadmill, and 3 muscles strengthening sets. Guaranteed to leave you in a sweaty heap after 60 solid minutes (remind me to post a before and after photo).
The classes that solely focus on muscle strengthening are challenging in a different way.
If it’s your first time Kondi suggests attending one of the non-HIIT classes to begin with.
If you’re just in town for a visit and you loved the workout, Lacey also offers a series of online Cals courses which you can do yourself at home with some basic equipment.
The studio itself is found in the vibrant area of South Granville.
The open-plan studio has a welcoming reception area with lockers, as well as a great range of snacks and drinks available.
The workout space is split into two sections. The first is the treadmill room of doom (just kidding…kind of), the second is the area where you work through the TRX/Cals/Pilates style moves.
Kondi has a shower and provides toiletries and towels, as well as an infrared sauna.
People who work out at Kondi are serious about their fitness goals so you’re guaranteed to be working out with like-minded people who are their to work hard.
